Can I donate my old bike / bike parts?

Absolutely! Donations are a huge part of how we're able to do what we do. Go here to find out more about donating to The Bicycle Tree.

You guys are so cool! How can I support you?

Thank you! The main ways you can support us is through volunteering, making a donation (monetary donations and donations or bike or bike gear/parts are always appreciated), or by becoming a member.

Can I drop my bike off at the shop for repairs?

No.

We are not a standard bike shop. We are a non-profit community bike center that works with people to help them become empowered bicyclists. The main way we do that is by teaching people how to fix their bikes themselves. Find out more about bike repair at The Bicycle Tree or read our mission.

My budget is extremely tight. Is it still worthwhile for me to visit your shop?

Absolutely! If saving money is a major concern, we're probably the first bike shop in the county you should visit. Our large inventory of secondhand parts helps keep repair costs significantly lower than what you'd encounter at an ordinary bike shop. We have a suggested donation of $7 an hour for  using our tools and/or receiving assistance from our volunteer mechanics, but we do not turn anyone away for lack of funds.

What is a "repair workshop"?

"Repair workshop" just means a time when we're open for people to bring in their bikes for repair. We have them four days a week:

Wednesday: 3:00 - 9:00 pm

Thursday: 3:00 - 9:00 pm

Saturday: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sunday: 1:00 - 5:00 pm

I really enjoy fixing up bikes. Can I stop by and help?

Yes. If you have a basic level of mechanical competence, we encourage you to become a volunteer, and drop by the shop during workshop hours and help others repair their bikes. You can also stop by on Friday volunteer night, and help us fix up bikes for donations to other worthy non-profits, or for use in our programs.

I don't know anything about fixing up bikes, but I'd still really like to volunteer for you. Is that possible?

Absolutely! There's a wide variety of other volunteer opportunities available here at The Bicycle Tree. No skills are required

• Marketing

• Graphic Design

• Grantseeking

• Fundraising

• Language Skills

Even if you don't have mechanical skills or any of the other skills listed above, we would still be delighted to have you volunteer with us. And if you're looking to gain bike repair skills, there's no better place to be than The Bicycle Tree! Find out more about volunteering with The Bicycle Tree.

I'm with a group that would like to volunteer for you guys. Can that be arranged?

Do you have [a certain specialized bike repair tool]?
